Searching for addiction support and freedom? Chiron is here for you!

Admissions For Families

What may seem like taking a small, necessary step in the right direction for an addict’s friends, family, and loved ones, is really not so simple for those afflicted by their mental health or substance abuse issues. That small step for us can seem like a big leap into the abyss for our loved ones. We know that taking that first step is not only crucial, it’s scary, hard, even overwhelming for some. That’s why at Chiron, our staff members are highly trained, caring individuals who are committed to helping your loved one take that step.

With the help and support of you and our staff, your loved one can not only take that step but run full force into dedicated, long-term recovery. Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves here, though. Once your loved one chooses to seek treatment, there are many decisions that won’t be made lightly, it’ll be a long road ahead of them. In the beginning, when you are reviewing programs and facilities that are dedicated to drug or alcohol rehabilitation, the amount of information can be overwhelming.

Once you’ve narrowed down your search, you’re suddenly hit with many more decisions, questions, and concerns. Fortunately, you’ve done the hardest part. Finding a treatment center with the right program for your loved one can be daunting, but you’ve done it, and you’re here.

Next, you’ll be wondering about all the details, what type of insurance will be accepted, will you be able to afford treatment otherwise, whether or not there are payment plans. Of course, this information is important, that’s why we’ve gathered it all here for your convenience. You’ll also find information about what items need to be packed and what items should be left at home. We’ll give you some more information about what goes on during rehab as well as what your loved one might expect from treatment – and what you can do to support them along the way.

Involving Family Can Do Wonders for Recovery

We at Chiron Recovery know from experience what the support of loved ones can do for recovery, that’s why we celebrate and encourage family involvement. Whether you are able to attend our family program or not, we like to give you as many resources as possible. The first step in becoming the type of support your loved one needs is education.

For friend and family of an addict, it can be difficult to understand addiction as a disease as well as how this disease affects your loved one and yourself. To be the rock your loved one needs to lean on in recovery, you have to learn how to communicate effectively, including acknowledging how addiction has affected you. We don’t want you to cause confrontation, we will teach you healthy ways to do this.

There will be a chance to learn what enabling is, if and how you’re doing it, and how to stop doing it while remaining there for your loved one. We understand being the friends or family members of an addict presents unique challenges to you, and we’re committed to your recovery as well as your loved one’s.

We Encourage Friends and Family to Join a Recovery Program

Although we would love to give you all of the information you need here, we know there is too much to learn along the way. Because we understand the above challenges, we want to focus on you, answer questions, comfort your concerns, and help you grow along the way. We want to offer you the support you need to recover because this addiction has affected you as well. We strive to give you the tools you need to succeed right along with your loved one.

Resources for Family and Friends

As we mentioned earlier, we want to address all of your questions, thoughts, and concerns. Although we go more in depth about some of these topics elsewhere on this site, here is a brief overview of what you need to know:

Insurance & Billing

At Chiron Recovery, we understand how treatment can be life-changing not only for the addicted individual but for their loved ones, that’s why we accept most major insurance company and strive to work with some companies to extend out of network coverage. We also have the ability to arrange financial agreements on a case by case basis.

What to Bring & What to Leave Behind

Comfortable clothing is recommended for you or your loved one’s stay. You may need a raincoat or a warm winter coat, beach attire, and church attire. Personal care items for the length of your stay are suggested as are appropriate reading materials. We ask that you leave most electronics at home as well as anything related to drugs, alcohol, or sex as far as reading material and clothing goes.

At Chiron, we take recovery seriously, so we ask that you are respectful of your own recovery as well as those around you.

One Last Word Before You Go

At Chiron, we believe our families are as much a part of recovery as anything else. Families are often a solid component of our patient’s recovery. We want you to be here as much as you want your loved one to be here. That’s why we do everything we can to get everyone the help they need to find their path to recovery.

We welcome you into our facilities to help you get all of the help you need. If you are interested in more information on addiction education or you didn’t get all of your questions answered here, please contact us directly. We want to provide you with the consultation you need and give you the support you deserve. When you learn about addiction, you’ll be able to build stronger foundations for the relationships in your life and family. Through togetherness, we work with individuals and families to promote wellness from the core out. We address problems that could contribute to addiction at their core and help stabilize the bond you and your loved one has. We look forward to hearing from you.
